Tree work is one of the highest-risk trades to insure, and many carriers won’t quote it. We place tree trimming, removal and arborist businesses with carriers that write the class, including the workers compensation California requires of every D-49 licensee.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need workers comp if I work alone?
Yes. California requires D-49 tree service licensees to carry workers compensation regardless of employees.
Can landscapers who trim trees use a landscaping policy?
Often not. Many landscaping policies limit tree work by height. If you climb or remove trees, you need a policy that specifically covers tree work.
