Client: A Pasadena-area cosmetics manufacturer · Coverage: Commercial Package — GL increased from $1M/$2M to $2M/$4M; Additional Insured – Primary & Noncontributory · Status: Bound
The problem
A new licensing agreement required $2M per occurrence, but the policy carried $1M/$2M. Separately, a vendor required primary and noncontributory additional insured wording on the certificate.
How Pierce helped
- Renewed the package (GL + property) at a lower premium after a market rate decrease
- Got carrier approval to amend the current policy mid-term rather than rewrite it
- Processed the limit increase to $2M/$4M for a $1,300 additional premium
- Issued the Additional Insured – Primary & Noncontributory endorsement and explained in writing how it modifies 'Other Insurance'
The result
Limits were increased to $2M per occurrence / $4M aggregate, and the vendor certificate with primary and noncontributory wording was approved and delivered.
Why it worked
Endorsing the existing policy met the licensing requirement quickly and for less than a new policy would have cost.
