Client: A Van Nuys-area aircraft detailing and aircraft janitorial company · Coverage: Aviation Commercial General Liability (occurrence), $5M/$5M; $10M renewal option · Status: Bound
The problem
Aircraft detailing is an aviation-class risk, and many standard GL markets won't write it. The company needed high liability limits to work at airport FBOs. A year later, a new client contract called for $10M.
How Pierce helped
- Placed aviation GL with Kinsale through a specialty wholesaler after confirming the carrier was already at minimum premium for the class
- Bound coverage on the day payment came in
- At renewal, had the carrier re-rate on updated sales and requested both a $10M primary option and a $5M excess option
- Showed the client the expiring vs. $10M renewal side by side, with paid-in-full and financed options
The result
The $5M/$5M aviation GL policy was bound in October 2025. For the 2026 renewal, a $10M-limit option was quoted at $21,596.25 a year, compared with $12,225.95 for the expiring $5M program.
Why it worked
Going to a specialty aviation market got the right policy form at the limits airports require, and quoting several structures let the client see what doubling the limit would cost before committing.
