What is RV Insurance?

“RV insurance” refers to a specialized type of insurance coverage designed for recreational vehicles (RVs). It provides protection for RV owners in the event of accidents, theft, weather damage, or other incidents that could affect the RV, both on the road and when it is parked or stored. RV insurance is similar to car insurance but also includes additional coverage options specific to RVs, such as:

  1. Liability Coverage: Pays for damage or injury you cause to others while driving the RV.
  2. Collision Coverage: Covers repairs to your RV if it is involved in a collision, regardless of who is at fault.
  3. Comprehensive Coverage: Protects against non-collision incidents like theft, vandalism, or natural disasters.
  4. Personal Injury Protection (PIP): Covers medical expenses for you and your passengers in case of an accident.
  5. Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage: Helps protect you if you’re involved in an accident with someone who doesn’t have sufficient insurance.

Some policies may also cover additional aspects of RV use, such as personal belongings, roadside assistance, or even coverage for the RV when it is not in use (such as when it’s parked at a campground).
